Supply of PPE

Strategic Procurement are working together with our Stores Department, P2P, Health & Safety Dept. and Trading Standard partners to ensure a compliant route to market when sourcing PPE in line with demand figures and forecasted stock holdings. Although the Council currently has a live contracted PPE Framework contract in place, the provision of the instructed compliant PPE for use during the pandemic is outside the remit of the contracted items and therefore no obligations or conditions bound these suppliers to ensure our supply quantities. The existing PPE contracted supply chain was asked but unable to supply the required items due to national shortages of PPE at the beginning of the COVID19 situation The waiver is required as it allowed the Council to provide a sustained response for the initial period of the COVID-19 pandemic. SPT ensured that best value was obtained were practicable and standards adhered to.
