Description
PJM/8 - Clifton Hall Tunnel, is situated in Swinton, Greater Manchester on the disused branch line that linked Patricroft with Molyneux Junction. The tunnel passes predominantly under residential housing and parkland aligned in a south-west to north-east direction. The double track tunnel, originally constructed in 1846, is 1187m long and lined with brick throughout. There are eight construction (blind) shafts along the length of the tunnel.
