Heritage Grants Impact Evaluation

1.4 We wish to conduct an impact evaluation of the Heritage Grants projects funded under HLF’s 2nd Strategic Plan (SP2), which ran from 2002 to March 2007. Under SP2 HLF awarded over £1.04bn to 1111 Heritage Grants, ranging in size from £50,000 to over £5m. Of these 1111 projects, 1086 are now complete

Additional information: 1.7 We expect detailed information and data to be collected from projects to develop a framework showing social and economic impact on Heritage, people and communities (see our outcomes framework). The types of indicators this framework could include, but not be limited to, are: - Visitor numbers and spend - Audience profile - Employment both direct and indirect - GVA - Purchases of goods and services - Measures of increase in knowledge and understanding of heritage - Measures of enjoyment inspiration and creativity - Development of personal skills and capabilities - Health and quality of life improvements - Social cohesion - Social inclusion - Measures of strengthened organisations - Volunteers
