## Description

To procure a main highways maintenance provider for a duration of around 5 years\. The aim is to commence the procurement in Spring 2022 with the contract commencing in Spring 2023\. The maintenance contract covers routine and winter maintenance, and an £18m annual renewals programme covering highways, structures and drainage\. Specific Client aims in the procurement of the contract and the delivery of the work include: - An overall approach that is attractive to the best Tier 1 maintenance providers\. - Incorporation of lessons learnt from the existing contract\. - Robust procurement procedures to avoid the risk of challenge to the outcome\. - Quality assessments that are reliable, robust and focused on CBC's priorities\. - Contractor's quality proposals to be delivered in practice\. - Delivery of the contract in a collaborative culture with the focus on prompt and efficient service delivery rather than on commercial interests\. - Greater involvement of local SMEs as part of the social value agenda\.
