The PCC for Essex invited bids from providers with expertise in violence and vulnerability, including gang diversion and intervention, to:
(a) provide direct, targeted support to individuals at highest risk of exploitation to divert them away from engaging in gang activity, and (b) educate and inform professionals, including teachers, about what risk-factors to look out for in relation to gang involvement, and how to signpost vulnerable young people to appropriate support.
It is intended that the service will be for a period of two years with the option to extend for 12 months.
The funding available for this activity is £200,000 over two years.
