DR5059 - Roof Extension in Conservations Areas

Description

The contract will deliver the development of a carefully prescribed design standard to ensure all new roof extensions are well designed and historically appropriate in the Driffield Road and Medway conservation areas. The contract entails a revision of character appraisals for the conservation areas to reflect a more permissive approach to roof extensions, reviewing existing London Borough of Tower Hamlets guidance and amending the text to reflect a more permissive approach. Preparing detailed architectural design guidance for roof extensions in the conservation areas. Researching, developing and designing a number of options for roof extensions in the conservation areas, including a period of public consultation. There are four main elements to the project: Investigation & commissioning Development of options - technical work and appraisal revision Public consultation Cabinet adoption
