\*\*\*Modification of the Contract\*\*\* Contract Variation 001- The total contract value will be increased by £9,611\.60 excluding VAT and the contract end date will be amended from 31/05/2024 to 31/08/2024 to accommodate additional effort to improve the quality of the outputs\. \*\*\*\*\* THIS IS AN AWARD NOTICE, NOT A CALL FOR COMPETITION \*\*\*\*\* This procurement is being concluded following a mini competition under the CCS RM6126 Research & Insights DPS\. Brief Description of Requirement To reach Net Zero in 2050 and deliver on the UK's carbon budget commitments, deployment of onshore and offshore wind and large-scale solar PV \(>5MW\) are critical\. The Net Zero Strategy committed the UK to fully decarbonising its power system by 2035\. This includes aiming to deploy renewable technologies at or close to their maximum deployment potential\. Since then, the 2022 British Energy Security Strategy \(BESS\) has gone further, setting out ambitions for up to 50GW of offshore wind by 2030, new community-backed onshore wind in England, and expectations of up to 70GW of solar capacity by 2035\.
