Work description
As part of an 'Invest to Save' project, Gateshead Council (GC) require the services of a company to carry out lighting designs for traffic routes in the borough of Gateshead. GC have procured approximately 10,000 Thorn CiviTEQ lanterns which are to be installed onto existing lighting columns of 8, 10 and 12 Metres in height and at varying heights on overhead electricity supply poles.
The successful contractor will define the appropriate road and footway hierarchy and the lighting class for all lighting designs on the existing public highway and produce designs for 500 lanterns each month from the start of the contract. All street lighting shall be designed in accordance with the current edition of BS5489 and BSEN13201 using the correct lighting level applicable to the road and the existing spacing between columns and shall be calculated using the Reality design package.
