Hackney Private Sector Housing Strategy

Description

This project entails a review of the private rented sector in Hackney followed by the development of a Private Sector Housing Strategy. This includes carrying out a market analysis of the current private rental market and completing a letting agent and stakeholder review to produce a comprehensive evidence base, preparing the strategy and developing a delivery plan, as well as undertaking a review of Hackney Council's Private Sector Housing team following the 2018 restructure proposals. The project also includes gathering an evidence base to inform the application to the Secretary of State to extend the Selective Licensing schemes which are expiring in October 2023. As per the statutory requirement, this will involve preparing the consultation paper for the extension of both Selective and Additional licensing schemes.
