Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) Naval Ship Support (NSSpt) has a prime mission to equip and support the Armed Forces of the United Kingdom (UK) for current and future worldwide operations. An element of the Armed Forces current and future military requirement is for Royal Navy (RN) Submarine platforms to possess the stealth capabilities to deliver evolving, multi-function operational roles. One of the components of submarine stealth is the management of the magnetic signature influence, which is primarily produced within the ferromagnetic material of the pressure hull.
