Work description
The role of an Appropriate Adult (AA) is to safeguard the interests, rights, entitlements and welfare of vulnerable young people (10-17) and adults (18+) suspected of a criminal offence, by ensuring that they are treated in a fair and just manner and are able to participate effectively.
Local Authorities, NHS England (NHSE) and The Mayor's Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) have agreed a 1 year plus 1 year contract term funding for the provision of Appropriate Adults services. This procurement aims on appointing an Appropriate Adults provider for both vulnerable Young People and Adults in the London Borough of Newham.
