Royal Well and Promenade Masterplanning - AWARD

Description

Cheltenham is developing a placemaking vision to maximise the potential of its streets, buildings and surroundings to create high quality, world class public spaces. With its Regency heritage and many attractive features to exploit, the Council wishes to improve town centre sites and streets to support the Cheltenham's economy and communities in a 21st century setting. In particular, the Promenade and Royal Well area offers the potential to create a truly imposing and welcoming vista to Cheltenham making it an enjoyable public space for all. This commission is for consultants to provide the Council with an imaginatively inspired masterplan, linking areas through a fluid design principle, to consider options for the Municipal Buildings and essentially find a solution to the current traffic flows and vehicle parking dominating the Royal Well and Promenade at present.
