Infant Feeding Peer Support Service

As part of the commitment to increase breastfeeding rates in Cornwall and Isles of Scilly, and led by the local Infant Feeding Co-ordinators the maternity and health visiting services have recently been re-assessed for UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative, and the Neonatal Unit is also working towards the standards. The delivery of the existing peer support service significantly contributed to the standards achieved in the assessment. There is a local commitment to building the current network of peer supporters and improving the breastfeeding pathway for all women.
