Work description
Blackpool Council are planning to transform the inner area of Blackpool through refurbishment and new build, and working with residents, enabling a transition to high quality residential neighbourhoods by the sea alongside a rejuvenated visitor economy. Delivering our ambitions will not only make the town fit for the next 100 years but will remove the current drag on the local economy of transience and the re-cycling of poverty, and at the same time reduce the cost to the public purse by creating stable and self-sustaining communities. The Revoe area has a population of around 3100 people and sits directly south of the town centre. It comprises a mix of residential and commercial units, with Central Drive as its spinal cord. Blackpool Football Club is located just on the southern periphery of the area, and the new Foxhall village development adjacent to Festival Park. Revoe is one of the most deprived areas in the country, and does have its social and economic problems, but it also boasts a diverse community and Big Local £1m funded project - RevoeLution. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with RevoeLution and the wider community to realise Revoe's potential whilst also celebrating the area's history, which is a focal point for this project.
