## Description

JANES is a vast database of world-wide Defence capabilities and forces\. It is the foundation upon which many intelligence products and reports are built\. This information can be accessed either on-line, via a web-based portal, or distributed via digital media and ingested onto systems that may have restricted or no internet access\. The Defence requires both on-line and off-line sources\. The MOD \(Ministry of Defence\) derives significant benefit from JANE's information resources as it has no in-house capability to produce such material\.
