South Cambridgeshire District Council - Mobile Foodhub

SCDC is looking for a suitable contractor to run a mobile foodbank, servicing initially 6 different villages, and rising, depending on its success. The villages initially identified have been selected using the indices of deprivation data from the 2021 census, targeting wards with the highest level of households deprived in two or more dimensions that do not have close access to a foodbank. These villages/wards are Papworth, Over & Willingham, Histon & Impington, Fen Ditton & Fulbourn, Linton, and Duxford. These locations are subject to change as prior engagement with each ward must be undertaken before starting this project.

A van filled with food items will visit these villages on a weekly basis, to set up a marquee in a suitable, accessible location and run a foodbank for 2 hours each time. There will be no set eligibility criteria for people to access the foodbank, but this is subject to change following the trial period.
