Description
Ofcom has a requirement for expert review of the use of the IETF STIR standard protocols in the UK for the purposes of Calling Line Identity authentication. We require an expert review of the developments in North America including: - Details of what will be implemented by the specified dates with regards to technical capabilities and governance processes; - An assessment of the likely impact, taking into account the expected proportion of IP to non-IP lines at the specified dates; - How CLI authentication will be dealt with for non-IP networks; - How verification and authenticity will be communicated to the called party; - The expected trajectory of CLI authentication after July 2021.
