Description

VMware allows for the creation of virtual servers, it mimics an actual hardware server but lets you run several separate servers on one actual piece of hardware but as far as each guest server is concerned it thinks its running on real hardware which it has exclusive access to. It is a flexible solution that lets us create new servers quickly and also allows us to make maximum use of our server hardware. Support and maintenance is required for this software so that we are able to receive upgrades, patches and technical support. If the software was to cease functioning properly and we did not have the support and maintenance in place we would lose essential systems and would also be in breach of government security policies.
