Work description
The purpose of this contract is to provide a mechanism for GP's to authorise a patient, that they have seen through a telemedicine consultation for an acute respiratory illness, to receive a swab kit that they can self-administer. Completed tests would be sent by the patient for laboratory testing (Currently testing is provided by a UKHSA lab). Test results would be issued to the service provider, who would in turn notify both the patient.
Contract Term: 60 months, with an initial term of 24 months
The ceiling price for this contract will not exceed £400k per annum for a maximum contract of five years or until the maximum value of £1.9m is consumed. This contract is demand led and capped by available budget this would be a contract with a zero-value commitment.
The ceiling price recognises the planned aspirational growth through promotion of this service by UKHSA and RCGP, in collaboration with the supplier, to encourage greater use by GP surgeries. Also, the requirement to cover reimbursement of the sourcing of kit component costs in the future when UKHSA stock is exhausted.
