SBRI Challenge - Enhanced IndividualProtective Equipment

A study to develop durable flame retardant (FR) wool materials which will maintain excellent moisture management properties. The programme of work will also address the thermo physiological requirements of garments described in the Fire Protection theme of this SBRI call. The work is to be in accordance with the SBRI application 58499-443210 part 8. Key tasks 1) Produce a sample of fabric with the finish applied from an aqueous media with a LOI of greater than 29 by 31/12/16. 2) Assess performance and durability of the finish on textiles made from other than 100% wool 31/12/16. 3) Assess physiological burden and protection from fire using a manikin 31/06/17. 4) Deliver final report by 30/06/17.
