The Portfolio Breakthrough programme is a core component of the Ministry of Defence's most significant reform in over 50 years, driven by the need to respond to evolving global threats and deliver greater value for money\. It aims to transform Defence acquisition by implementing a portfolio-based approach that enables faster, more strategic, and more integrated capability delivery\. Aligned with the direction set out in the Strategic Defence Review 2025, this transformation will ensure Defence is better equipped to prioritise investments, accelerate delivery timelines, and strengthen collaboration with industry, ultimately enhancing the UK's ability to deter and respond to threats in a rapidly changing global environment
