Provision of Targeted Support to Promote Better Family Engagement in Education & Pupil Inclusion

There is significant evidence from schools and services in Blackpool that family factors can create major barriers to educational engagement and progress for some young people. Disengagement from education not only leads to poorer educational outcomes but also increases the risk of other community-based issues (e.g. youth crime, drug abuse and other safeguarding concerns). Capacity is needed to help pupils re-engage in the system but also to keep children 'connected' who are at significant risk of disengaging at key points. Blackpool Council is looking to enter into a contract with a Service Provider for the delivery of targeted support to promote better family engagement in education and pupil inclusion.
