## Description

Under the Highways Act 1980 \(England and Wales\) Section 41\(1A\) states: "a highway authority is under a duty to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, that safe passage along a highway is not endangered by snow or ice\. City of Wolverhampton Council \(CWC\) completes its statutory requirement in accordance with this duty by treating the network with "De-Icing \(Rock Salt\)" so as to ensure, where reasonably practicable, safe passage along the highway is maintained\. The initial term is 4 years with an option to extend for a further period of 4 years\.
