Description
This contract was awarded via LINC. Our Social Impact Strategy (SIS) outlines our vision to enable resilient economies and support thriving communities closest to our sites. It contains a 'sustainable incomes' objective to improve access to sustainable incomes, beyond Sellafield Ltd, by increasing skills, knowledge, aspirations and access to opportunities. To enable us to achieve this objective we developed a five-day work awareness programme for year 10 and year 12 students in secondary schools and colleges in Copeland and Allerdale. The Elements Programme is delivered in collaboration with members of our supply chain. The Elements Programme will ensure we are providing inclusive accessible experiences for young people across West Cumbria where young people are developing vital leadership and employability skills. It allows individuals to access opportunities to understand the breath of career opportunities within Sellafield Ltd and its supply chain. The programme ensures Sellafield Ltd and the supply chain are able to engage with young people to help highlight and shape the skills required within the Nuclear Sector to strengthen the talent pipeline. It is intended that there will be a focus on raising awareness of critical skills needs, in particular Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) related disciplines but in order to attract a more diverse workforce broader project briefs may be supported. The supplier will be required to provide the project management of the week-long programme. They will coach and mentor the students and facilitate all the sessions throughout the Elements programme for Sellafield Ltd and a range of supply chain partners. These sessions will be supported by company representatives who will deliver sessions against their areas of expertise.
