The contract aims to investigate the costs of domestic and commercial space and water heating measures (low carbon and incumbent), including their associated ancillary components. This includes establishing the current baseline costs, future estimates regarding cost path trajectories, cost breakdowns and technical lifetimes. With smart energy systems and dynamic pricing, thermal stores may be increasingly installed alongside heating systems, so this work will also explore the cost, prevalence and rationales for these. This work will additionally explore the cost of commercial and domestic cooking appliances.
