Understanding and examining the UK production sector

Description

Ofcom has a requirement for understanding and examining the UK production sector.While there is substantial information that provides Ofcom with a reasonably sound level of understanding of the sector's size and the levels of investment that go into it. It does not provide what we consider to be a complete picture of the UK production sector - particularly in respect to the 'longer tail' of smaller independent production companies and companies that may specialise in short form and digital only content. This makes it especially difficult for us to track the rate of consolidation within the sector.
