## Description

Most NDA sites are located in geographically remote areas - consequently, they are significant and, sometimes, dominant employers; so key to the wider social and economic wellbeing of the local area\. It is important that the NDA understand the impact of its activities on local communities, both directly and indirectly through the supply chain\. The NDA has an objective of supporting Local Authorities and others to maintain sustainable communities up to and after site closure\. In order to better plan for the impact of decommissioning and subsequent site closure, we need a better understanding of the current economic contribution of nuclear to communities around our sites with evidence as to how well placed each community is to deal with a planned downturn in activity and closure\. Deliverable 1 - Quantify the direct and indirect economic contribution of the NDA sites Deliverable 2 - Provide an analysis of the impact of planned downturn and eventual closure of sites
