## Description

The Scheme for Registration \[hereafter "the Scheme"\] represents the principal route for entry into the profession\. It comprises a programme of pre-registration training and assessment, lasting up to 27 months, delivered as structured and supported route from graduate to professional optometrist\. All optometrists must successfully complete this training following graduation \(2:2 or above\) to obtain registration with the General Optometry Council and practise optometry unsupervised\.
