## Description

Gateshead Council currently operates two crematoria; Saltwell Crematorium - opened in 1966 \(fitted with mercury abatement system in 2013\) Saltwell Road South Gateshead NE9 6DT Birtley Crematorium – opened in 1957 \(unabated\) Windsor Road Birtley DH3 1PQ The Council requires emissions testing to be completed at these two facilities\. The first emissions tests should take place before 31st December 2016 and annually thereafter\. A safe means of access is required to access the emission stacks at Birtley Crematorium and Saltwell Crematorium\.
