## Description

The primary aim of this project is to develop HMRC’s evidence base concerning customer behaviours and attitudes towards pre-population of tax details by the department using third-party data\. The project aims to deliver relevant and insightful research outputs for HMRC that will: a\) Broaden and improve our understanding of how customers react to pre-population\. b\) Identify customer attitudes towards HMRC’s use and possession of third party data\. The populations of interest for this project are Pay-As-You-Earn \(PAYE\) taxpayers, as well as both individual and small business Self-Assessment \(SA\) income taxpayers\. Pre-population is likely to affect a diverse range of taxpayers and insights produced should, to the greatest extent possible, shed light on how pre-population will be received by a wide range of customers\. Additional information: This contract was let as part of a mini competition within the DWP Social and Economic Research Framework 2013
