Work description
Advocacy standards are informed by "Get it Sorted" providing effective Advocacy services for children and young people making a complaint under the Children Act 1989, the Advocacy Services and representations procedure (Childrens) (amendment) regulations 2004, the National standards for the provision of Children's Advocacy Services, article 12 of the UN Convention on the rights of children and the Human Rights Act 1998. The purpose of Advocacy is to empower children and young people and to make sure their rights are respected, their views and wishes are heard at all times and help them to navigate their way through the system. An advocate can also represent children and young people's views and wishes to decision makers.
