Mercury Rising - Extension and Redevelopment of the Mercury Theatre Colchester (0134) - Reissued

Description

Colchester Borough Council requires an experienced contractor to construct a new two storey extension and within the main building the refurbishment and redevelopment of the existing theatre. The project is partly grant funded. If the Council is successful in securing a grant from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), then a condition of this grant is that the new build elements of the works are assessed following the BREEAM method of assessment and are to achieve a "Very Good" rating. The Council is initially therefore only looking for expressions of interest from contractors who have experience in delivering projects that have achieved a BREEAM rating of "Very Good" or higher. Note that if the Council is unsuccessful in securing the ERDF grant, then the requirement to achieve a BREEAM rating of "Very Good" will be withdrawn from the project before it goes to tender.
