Work description

The University is opening a High Temperature Research Centre (HTRC) on the Ansty Research Park in Coventry. The HTRC is a collaborative project with a major partner, Rolls Royce. The HTRC is adjacent to the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) in which the University and Rolls Royce already have a stake.

It was initially envisaged that the Facilities Management (FM) Services could be provided by the University's existing service providers. As the project has developed it has become apparent that the services cannot be provided by the existing providers due to the specialist nature of the HTRC operations, distance from the University and the large number of different providers that would be required to service the HTRC.

A contract needs to be put in place beginning of March 2015 in time for the opening of the HTRC in April 2015. The University and Rolls-Royce have analysed the service requirements for the HTRC. An options appraisal has concluded that a contract for Facilities Management with Mitie, MTC's current FM provider, would offer the best option.
