Work description

This Framework Contract will be available for use by the Council and any;

• public or private entity (including limited companies) in which the Council has a shareholding or interest;

• maintained school (as defined in the Academies Act 2010) within the Borough of Gateshead which have entered into a buyback agreement with the Council which provides for the supply of goods or services of the type to which this Contract relates or which enter into such an agreement at any point during the term of this Contract;

• Academy schools (as defined in the Academies Act 2010) which have entered into a buyback agreement with the Council which provides for the supply of goods or services of the type to which this Contract relates or which enter into such an agreement at any point during the term of this Contract. This Framework contract is being let by The Borough Council of Gateshead. Gateshead Council is seeking to enter into a Framework contract with numerous/multiple suppliers who can efficiently provide a range of Construction Small Plant & Tools in specific kits for 13 different trades/disciplines which will assist the Council in delivering a high quality cost effective Housing Repairs and Maintenance Service together with other operational Construction Services. The Council has recently approved the intention of directly delivering the Housing Repairs and Maintenance Works and Services. The Framework will be divided into Lots as detailed within the specification and outlined below :- LOT 1 – TRADE KIT Consists of a number of different kits for 13 specific trades/disciplines containing a range of power tools and equipment relevant to specific trades. The tools must be provided in kit form and packaged in a suitable holdalls/carry cases where appropriate for easy portable transit. Lot 1 will be awarded to ONE supplier. Kit 1 – Bricklayer Kit 2 - Electrician Kit 3 – Floor Layer Kit 4 – Glazier Kit 5 – Joiner Kit 6- Labourer Kit 7 – Semi-Skilled Operative Kit 8 - Painter Kit 9 - Plasterer Kit 10- Plumber Kit 11 – Gas Plumber Kit 12 – Gas Engineer Service & Repair Kit 13 – Roofer It is estimated that approximately 179 kits in total for Lot 1 will be required. An estimated breakdown of each trades’/disciplines’ kit content requirements is detailed within specification for pricing purposes. LOT 2 – GENERAL TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT Consists of a range of more general tools and equipment which will supplement the trade kits outlined in Lot 1. Lot 2 will be awarded to ONE supplier. It is estimated that approximately 179 kits in total for Lot 2 will be required. An estimated breakdown of each trades’/disciplines’ kit content requirements is detailed within specification for pricing purposes. SUPPLIERS CAN BID FOR ONE OR BOTH LOTS.
