Procurement for Interpretation and Translation Services for Liverpool CCG and NHS Trusts

The service scope proposed is:- o Lot 1 Translation of English into Community languages o Lot 2 Creation of Easy Read formats o Lot 3 English into Braille / Audio formats o Lot 4 Community languages interpretation o Lot 5 BSL, Lipspeaker, Deafblind interpretation, Speech to text & English into BSL video

The intention is to offer contracts for separate specialties; these are proposed to be separate lots within the forthcoming tender. Providers can bid for one, some or all of the lots.

Estimated total value: circa £4.5m over 3 years covering all Lots. Contract Duration: 3 Years with optional 2 year extension Estimated date of publication of contract notice: 22/12/2020

Liverpool Clinical Commissioning Group in collaboration with local Trusts and Local Authority is the host authority and is responsible for the service delivery of the Interpretation and Translation Service which provides linguistic professionals to the public sector, 24/7 365 days a year. After consultation, multiple partners have indicated they wish to be involved in this procurement, please note this list isn't final and further detail will be provided within the procurement documentation:

• Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust • Primary Care 24 • Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital • Alder Hey • Liverpool Women's Hospital • Sefton CCGs (who now have responsibility for GP services) • Liverpool CCG (who have responsibility for GP services) • Liverpool City Council • Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust • The Walton Centre • Clatterbridge Cancer Centre

The procurement process is anticipated to commence in December 2020, with the intention to have a contract awarded by March 2021 and for Service to commence by June 2021.

A Market Engagement Questionnaire has been developed for completion by providers to be returned via the EU supply portal.

As part of the tender documents and specification, this will also include and actively promote the latest standards on social value.
