Work description
Cava Lighthouse is a minor light situated at the north end of the low-lying, uninhabited island of Cava in Scapa Flow, Orkney Islands. Access is by boat, landing on the stony beach adjacent to the lighthouse.
The lighthouse tower is a round GRP and aluminium structure mounted on a concrete base. The structure is approximately 8 metres high to the top of the dome, with an aluminium balcony, GRP murette, Lexan glazing and GRP dome. Access to the balcony and lightroom is by external fixed hooped ladder.
The works will involve the general refurbishment of the existing structures and replacement of the electrical supply and control systems, and optic. NLB will supply the optic and electrical items detailed in the Bill of Quantities.
