Description
Amber Valley Council (AVBC), is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified service provider to deliver a turnkey lump sum fixed price project, with an estimated value of £230-290k. The successful bidder will be commissioned on a design and build basis to provide a replacement building/catering facility at Belper River Gardens in Derbyshire-which is within the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage site. The existing- now derelict Swiss Tea Rooms built in 1906- is beyond economic repair and will need demolishing and clearing before the new build can commence. Given the heritage sensitivities of the location, it is envisaged the replacement building will be aesthetically sympathetic to the design of the original yet offer modern contemporary facilities within. The successful bidder will be required to participate in the consultation with stakeholders and obtain full planning approval as part of the project before works commence. The aim of the Council is to have the project completed within the current financial year in order that the facility is fully operational by the Spring/Summer of 2019. It is anticipated a tender pack/documents will be available from mid July 2018. To register an expression of interest please email the author by 12.00 noon Friday 29/06/18. Additional information: Note: Contract start and completion dates are indicative at this stage.
