Work description
Surrey County Council is a corporate user of car clubs for council staff business travel and also the transport authority for Surrey. The council wishes to contract a car club operator, holding Full Accreditation with Carplus, to work in partnership with the council to provide and expand car club services in Surrey, in support of the council’s transport plan objectives for an effective, reliable, safe and sustainable transport system for the county.
The scheme currently operates within Dorking, Guildford, Leatherhead, Redhill and Woking.
Additionally, Surrey County Council in partnership with Guildford Borough Council successfully bid for £100,000 through the Carplus Car Club Development Programme to support the expansion of the Guildford Car Club. Guildford, the county town and transport hub, through mosaic profiling and direct evidence of demand, has been identified as a location with high potential for car club development. Any supplier to the council will be expected to demonstrate a commitment to the SCC car club scheme specification (see supporting document) to include but not limited to the following aspects:
- Vehicle provision (including Electric vehicles) maintenance and customer service - Growth strategy and marketing activity in support of the council’s described growth areas - Supplier performance monitoring in relation to Key Performance indicators - Value for money to the council and to service users
This contract will be for a peiod of 24 months with a possible extension period of up to another 24 months.
