## Description

Introduction to the procurement - Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust is an integrated organisation providing acute health care services, community health services and adult social care\. The Authority runs Torbay Hospital, a number of community hospitals and health & wellbeing centres\. - The Trust requires a Supplier to enter into a Contract for the Provision of Funerals, and the Collection, Transportation and Storage of the Deceased from Torbay Hospital \(only\)\. The Contract will be awarded for 5 years, with the option to extend for two 12-month periods\. - The Trust co-ordinates and pays for Funeral arrangements for deceased: - Adult patients who have no relatives to pay the cost of the funeral, - Child patients - Babies, non-viable foetuses and still births\. - The Trust also co-ordinates and pays for the transportation of: - Deceased babies out of area for post mortem examination\. Currently this is to/from St\. Michaels Hospital, Southwell St\., Bristol BS2 8EG\. - Organs \(for research purposes\) to other NHS Trusts\. We have a current arrangement to transport fixed brains to the Neuropathology Department at Derriford Hospital, Derriford Rd, Plymouth PL6 8DH\. - Full details of the Authority's requirements are set out in the Specification in Annex B2 of Section B\.
