To provide permanent bank stabilisation works to prevent further bank erosion and potential loss of footbridge at a section of riverbank on the South Tyne adjacent to Featherstone Castle , near Haltwhistle which has suffered significant erosion from recent flooding events in 2013, 2015 and 2016.
