Brighton & Hove City Council is a unitary authority with a gross revenue expenditure of £891m and annual capital investment of over £150m. The council is part of a Joint Venture with Hyde Housing called Homes for Brighton and Hove LLP which is in the process of delivering 334 new homes and has a contract with South Downs National Park Authority (SDNPA) to provide financial services including its wholly owned South Downs Commercial Operations Ltd (SDCO). The contract with SDNPA expires in March 2025 although BHCC has provided financial services since the creation of the park in 2010.
