Work description

The Whittington Health NHS Trust is requiring the provision of a full radiation protection service to its Imaging and Dental Departments who provide a wide range of radiology/ x-ray services to its patients in the hospital and out in the community, inclusive of the following: • Comprehensive 24/7 digital plain x-ray service supporting our Emergency and Urgent Care centres (2 DR units). • Open access walk-in x-ray service for GP and Outpatients Mon-Fri (3 DR units). • In-patient X-ray facility (1 DR unit). • Diagnostic mammography (1 tomographic unit, 1 DR unit) and ultrasound breast services. • Two 128 slice CT scanners. • Two 1.5T MRI scanners with MRI specialist iron overload assessment for Thalassaemic and Sickle Cell patients. • Home reporting for Radiologists and 36 pairs of PACS monitors. • SPECT CT scanner providing comprehensive general nuclear medicine services (including gastro-intestinal, cardiac and orthopaedic imaging techniques). • DXA service providing bone densitometry, fracture risk and vertebral fracture assessments. • 26 General, obstetric and gynaecological Ultrasound units across the Trust which include provision of vascular (vein and carotid doppler) studies. • 7 laser units based across theatres and eye clinics. • Enterprise wide distribution of diagnostic images. • Post mortem CT studies for forensics and religious communities. • Bariatric Imaging services. • 26 Community Dental Service sites.
