COV - Demolition of Coventry Point - AWARD

Description

This Project is for the demolition of Coventry Point, a 14 storey building in Coventry City Centre. Coventry City Council seeks a single demolition contractor with whom to develop and complete the 'design' (of the systems and processes) required to complete the works and to agree a fixed price lump sum contract which will be let under a JCT Design and Build Contract 2016. The Contractor is to commence works on site as quickly as possible after award of the contract early in 2019. The work is to be completed by no later than the end July 2020. The works will include the decommissioning, soft strip and demolition of the tower blocks connected by a glass walkway, as well as the three storey high red brick plinth building to the east of the site, formerly home to a snooker club and a number of other tenants. Following the completion of the demolition works a simple landscaping scheme is to be implemented to the site of the former building to allow pedestrian access
