GB-Colchester: 0386 - Garage Site Refurbishment

Colchester Borough Homes on behalf of Colchester City Council (the Council) wishes to commission a contractor to undertake the refurbishment of a number of garage sites within the Borough.

Work will consist of the selective planned upgrading of garage units of varying sizes. The properties are selected based on their current condition and urgency and are distributed randomly geographically throughout Colchester Borough. The works consist of the following:

• The replacement of roof coverings and all underlays including structural member replacements if necessary. • Replacement of doors with new up-and-over garage doors. • Replacement of rainwater goods with new aluminium. • Undertaking any masonry repairs and/or concrete repairs depending on the garage construction. • Application of slurry damp proofing to the existing garage floors.

Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement.

The contract is initially for 1 year with the option to extend for 2 x 1 years, subject to satisfactory performance and annual uplifts in accordance with the terms of this contract.

The council has a budget of approximately £200k per annum.
