Description
Utilising the Crown Commercial Services (CCS) RM6088 - Construction Works and Associated Services Framework - Lot 10: Demolition - National Lot across all UK regions. The Authority required a contractor to undertake the demolition of Crompton Place Shopping Centre (the "Works"). The Works involves the demolition of the existing buildings/structures on the site and associated works to create a clear site which removes the barriers for a future redevelopment scheme, including: • Removal of canopies (to be demolished first within the programme). • Removal of link bridges/structures from the site, and associated making good to the former M&S Building, 33- 35 Victoria Square and 56-58 Bradshawgate. • Retention of the former Bolton Evening News building facade on Mealhouse Lane and associated temporary works. • Grubbing out of the basement slab and foundations to infill the existing car park and provide a level, compacted surface across the site. • Removal of Asbestos Containing Materials. • Erection of a new stairway on the HSBC facade. • Creation of a new pedestrian link from Victoria Square through to Bradshawgate.
