15/25 Provision of Archaeological Services

The Council have recently secured funding to undertake a substantial refurbishment of the former Assembly Room building, Corporation Street, Tamworth. This includes an internal reformation of the room layout and external extensions to the northern and eastern facades of the building. Building work will also encompass the excavation and laying of new service runs within and without the building. The Assembly Rooms lie within an area of considerable archaeological potential and groundworks associated with this scheme may impact upon sensitive archaeological remains. An appropriately experienced archaeological Contractor is required to undertake the investigatory work.
