Design and Build Principal Contractor for Construction of New Student Residencies (Block R) at Manor Park Campus

The University has already award contracts two Blocks on it's Manor Park Campus for Blocks P & Q and is now planning further construction work on the Manor Park Campus.

This notice therefore seeks expressions of interest from design and build Contractors for a student accommodation building, Block R.

Block R accommodation is 674 x Standard and enhanced Rooms with ensuite shower rooms (about 19 750 m²); including a laundry and communal study space. 7 x rooms will be accessible bedrooms.

The accommodation Block is five storeys and will comprise of a concrete frame with flat slab and insitu concrete columns on a piled substructure, faced brickwork external walls including architectural recesses with trussed pitched roofs with slate tiles, together with on-site infrastructure works, road, balancing pond, sewers, external works and minor buildings.

The standard rooms are grouped into clusters of between 3 and 8 bedroom flats with communal kitchen and dining area.

The procurement route will be two stage design and build.
