Hosted Electronic Sales Service

Description

The Forestry Commission wishes to replace its current in-house electronic timber sales system, eSales, with a hosted sales solution. In addition to providing the current eSales functionality, the Forestry Commission wishes to expand the capability of its timber sales system into open ascending price auctions (English Auctions) and the processing of long term timber contracts. There is also a need to develop web-based sales of Niche Market Timber products as well as the expansion of web-based sales to Sundry products such as Permits and other goods and services normally purchased by individuals. We are seeking a partner to develop these solutions who will host the software on their infrastructure for use by our internal staff and our Customers (Bidders). The partner must have proven experience in the market The scope of this exercise therefore covers the ability to sell our timber electronically by sealed Tender and English Auctions to industry and to sell other products and services by catalogue-based solutions to both industry and individual consumers. All transactions must have the ability to have data interfaced both to and from existing FC systems (that are mainly Oracle-based). Note: FC has an existing contract for an e-Tendering service for its procurement activities therefore the scope of this exercise is limited to sales activity only.
