Service to Support Volunteer-Led Community Centres

Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council is seeking a service provider to support community centres that are managed by volunteers.

All of the community centres have great opportunities and potential to meet the needs of the local communities and surrounding areas, these opportunities require some support to flourish, develop and become sustainable.Some of the community centres face challenges, such as: financial sustainability, volunteering capacity, key skills and knowledge of operational responsibilities, improvements in record keeping etc. Along with the internal challenges there is a need to balance expectations from local residents, community groups and ward Councillors which also need to be managed effectively.

The service to be provided is expected to create the necessary infrastructure that supports the volunteers to manage the challenges effectively.
