Work description
Managing atmospheric emissions and reducing population exposure to emissions are key priorities for Sefton Council. The Council contains existing AQMAs and air quality is a major concern for local communities and elected Members. The impact of freight traffic associated with the Port of Liverpool is also a significant air quality issue in the Borough. As part of its commitment to tackling air quality in the Borough, Sefton Council is seeking quotations for consultancy support in producing a detailed Clean Air Zone (CAZ) feasibility study to determine the options and best potential impact of CAZs in reducing air pollution and subsequently improving health in Sefton's Air Quality Management Areas. The requirement through this study is the production of a fully considered and evidenced report that outlines the feasibility, technical requirements and potential impacts both positive and negative (economic, health, legislative, transport etc.) of implementing a CAZ within the Borough.
